What You'll Build
As the capstone project for this course, each student will design a complete digital product from start to finish — a mobile app or web platform of their choice. This end-to-end product design project will serve as the centrepiece of their professional design portfolio and will include: a user research report with interview findings and defined user personas, a competitive analysis of at least three existing products in the same space, a complete information architecture with sitemap and user flow diagrams, a full set of annotated low-fidelity wireframes covering all key screens, a high-fidelity UI design with a consistent design system including colour palette, typography, icons, and reusable components, and a fully interactive Figma prototype that demonstrates the complete user journey from onboarding to core functionality. Students will present their product to the class in a mock design review session, walking through their design decisions and responding to feedback — exactly as a professional product designer would in a real workplace.
